It’s quite clear Queenstown infrastructure is at a crisis point. There must be a moratorium on Queenstown growth until fundamentals problems have been addressed – sewage treatment, traffic congestion, clean drinking water. These are the fundamental responsibilities of local government – yet QLDC has failed to deliver on these fundamentals for its ratepayers.

Any discussion about growth, expansion and new development in Queenstown needs to be shelved and the focus put on sorting these issues. It’s a lesson Wanaka needs to heed!
